Information

Author Guidelines

All authors should refer to and follow the author guidelines listed in the Submit to AJIS tab on the journal homepage. Authors who fail to adhere to the guidelines will not have their article accepted for further review. Authors should also refer to the About the Journal section to familiarise themselves with the aims and scope of the journal.

To ensure the integrity of the blind peer-review for submission to this press, every effort should be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other. This involves the authors, editors, and reviewers (who upload documents as part of their review) checking to see if the following steps have been taken with regard to the text and the file properties:

  • The authors of the document have deleted their names from the text, with "Author" and year used in the references and footnotes, instead of the authors' name, article title, etc.
  • With Microsoft Office documents, author identification should also be removed from the properties for the file (see under File in Word), by clicking on the following, beginning with File on the main menu of the Microsoft application: File > Save As > Tools (or Options with a Mac) > Security > Remove personal information from file properties on save > Save.
  • With PDFs, the authors' names should also be removed from Document Properties found under File on Adobe Acrobat's main menu.

Article Processing Charges

This journal does not have article processing charges (APC), nor does it have submission charges.

Ethical and Legal Considerations

All articles submitted to the AJIS are accepted on the basis that authors have obtained permission from the copyright owner for the use of material such as figures, tables or large sections of text that have been published previously. All copyrighted material must be properly credited in the manuscript.

If the paper involves human or animal research, the authors must provide the ethics approval number from the relevant tertiary institution(s).

By submitting a manuscript for review, authors indemnify the journal and its editorial staff for any civic or criminal liability that might arise from authors not obtaining such permissions or including classified material in their submission.

Reviewer Guidelines

All reviewers will follow COPE’s Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers. All reviewers will also be given a Review Form that indicates what they should look for when reviewing author papers to ensure fairness and consistency.

Author Self-Archiving Policy

This journal permits and encourages authors to post items submitted to the journal on personal websites or institutional repositories both prior to and after publication, while providing bibliographic details that credit, if applicable, its publication in this journal.
